AEROSPACEACADEMY
The Alamo Area Aerospace Academy is an innovative training and educational partnership, providing education, experience and job opportunities for high school students seeking to jump-start their futures and make a seamless transition from high school to college and/or to the workplace. Qualified students receive training in the aerospace industry during their junior and senior years of high school. They earn one year of college credits and enjoy a paid internship introducing them to a career in the aerospace industry. Participating employers benefit through access to a continuous pipeline of skilled entry-level workers trained to their specifications.
The one-of-a-kind, nationally recognized, award-winning Aerospace Academy program, an outgrowth of the Mayor's Better Job initiative, is an innovative training and educational partnership of:
a. The cities of San Antonio, New Braunfels and Seguin
b. Alamo Community College District (ACCD)
c. All greater San Antonio area school districts and many private and charter schools
d. Aerospace companies
e. Port San Antonio
f. The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and
g. Workforce Solutions – Alamo.
